A coaching centre in Remera, built around what happens after
Iwacu Coaching Center teaches five programmes to students in Kigali. We are small, deliberately practical, and we measure ourselves on where our students end up.
Most training in Kigali is either academic or vocational, and students are made to choose early. We do both, in one place, because the two audiences want the same thing from a centre: somebody who knows the material, small enough classes to be noticed in, and honest marking.
On the trades side we teach Software Development, Tourism and Hospitality, and Networking and Telecommunications. They are practical from the first week and each one ends in an internship with a partner company, doing the actual job.
On the academic side we teach MCE and HGL, the two A-Level combinations that open the most doors at university. They are taught against the national exam, drilled on past papers, and timed, because technique is most of the difference between a pass and a distinction.
Everything is backed by our own student portal: notes, recordings, past papers, exams that mark themselves the moment they are submitted, and a page that tells each student which topics are costing them marks. A student who misses a day does not miss the material.

Four things we hold to
Teach the thing, not about the thing
A student who has built five websites is employable. One who can define what a website is, is not. Everything we teach ends in something made, fixed or sat under exam conditions.
Small enough to be noticed
Classes are kept small on purpose. A tutor who knows which topic you are quietly avoiding is worth more than a bigger room.
End at a door, not a certificate
Our trades come with an internship at a real company, because the gap between finishing a course and being hired is the part most training ignores.
Keep the marks honest
Every exam is marked against a published scheme, results are released as soon as they are ready, and each student can see exactly which topics are costing them marks.
